Silae, a Leading European Payroll Software Provider, Welcomes Marc Heurtaut as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President
London, England — March 2, 2021 Renovata & Company is pleased to announce the placement of Marc Heurtaut as chief technology officer for Silae, the leading provider of payroll software to the French outsourced payroll market and the fastest growing payroll software vendor in France and Europe. He will lead the company’s software architecture, engineering, operations, and related functions for software as a service (SaaS) and mobile applications.
Silae is a fast-growing payroll software vendor that has more than doubled its revenue in the past two years. In just 10 years since the company was founded, the Silae team has developed a product that manages very complex payroll environments. The system was originally designed for France, where it needs to cover more than 900 different and constantly changing collective labor agreements in a single automated payroll experience.
Today, the company has more than 4,000 clients, including CPAs and HR outsourcing specialists, servicing more than 500,000 small businesses that pay 4 million employees each month. This represents one-third of the current SME market. The team has achieved this footprint by developing a product that clients like; it enables a step change in productivity, is highly sticky and has the highest NPS in the sector.
Silver Lake acquired Silae in September 2020 with plans to continue to grow the company’s footprint in the SME market, expand to mid-market companies, broaden the product offering and expand internationally.

Before joining Silae, Heurtaut spent nearly 20 years at Oxatis as co-founder and chief technology officer of the e-commerce-as-a-service company. He was responsible for development, infrastructure, security and enterprise information systems—and designing and implementing the Oxatis platform architecture. With its acquisition by CGA CGM in 2020, Heurtaut acted as technical advisor to ensure the smooth transition and integration of the business. Prior to Oxatis, Heurtaut worked at Luxent Development Corporation, an e-business website, in several roles based in France and the US—including head of software development, research and development project manager, software engineer and developer.
