Financial Technology Company, Ebury, Welcomes Nitu Gupta as Vice President Architecture
London, England — December 10, 2020 Renovata & Company is pleased to announce the placement of Nitu Gupta as vice president architecture for Ebury, a leading financial technology company based in London. Backed by Banco Santander and earlier investor Vitruvian Partners, the company is planning further expansion into Latin America and Asia with aggressive growth goals over the next three years. Reporting to the senior vice president of engineering, Gupta will lead Ebury’s architecture team as products and event-driven technology become increasingly central to the company’s success.
With approximately 1,000 employees, Ebury is a financial technology company that was founded in 2009 to provide global transaction banking (GTB) services to SMEs underserved by large financial institutions. Ebury’s founding team wanted to leverage technology to tap into what it considered a broken GTB market.
The Ebury platform integrates directly into payments vendors versus going through banks. While traditional banks such as Citibank and HSBC serve large companies, Ebury focuses on small and mid-sized enterprises. With Ebury’s integrated financial services and technology, SMEs can make and receive payments in foreign currencies, get better exchange rates, use emerging-market currencies, hedge currency risk, benefit from liquidity, and finance transactions in more than 100 currencies, easily with a managed service. In addition, brokers and accountants offer the company’s white-label products.
Since its inception, the company has grown quickly due to its user-friendly system to on-board new customers, and a cost-effective go-to-market business model. Ebury can now leverage Santander’s capabilities, brand and correspondent bank network to establish new bank partnerships. In this next growth phase, Gupta will manage Ebury’s services and applications architecture integrity and scalability, and negotiate with stakeholders to deliver technology and product improvements.

Before joining Ebury, Gupta was enterprise architect (vice president) at Barclaycard, where she provided thought leadership and governance to engineering teams across the US, UK and Germany on microservices architectures. Prior to that, she was solutions architect for PPL, a music licensing organization. She has also worked as technical product manager at Credit Suisse, and senior Java software engineer at Goldman Sachs.
