CFO Leadership Dinner in Hamburg: Demystifying Transformation
By Renovata

As part of our Future CFO 2030 series, we brought together senior finance leaders discuss a defining challenge for today’s CFOs: turning transformation from ambition into execution. Hosted in partnership with Alvarez & Marsal, the evening focused on what successful transformation requires in practice.

The discussion was shaped by the perspectives of our guest speakers Steffen Bätjer, CFO Fielmann Group, and Dominik Müser, CFO of Hallo Healthcare Group and Senior Managing Director AURELIUS, who shared candid insights into the realities, trade-offs, and leadership decisions behind successful transformation.

While perspectives differed across ownership models, five themes emerged consistently throughout the evening:

  • The CFO Has Become the Architect of Transformation
  • Transparency Is the New Growth Infrastructure
  • AI Is Creating a New Leadership Challenge
  • Data Quality and Culture Remain the Biggest Barriers
  • Leadership Is the Ultimate Transformation Lever

Most notably, the discussion revealed a growing convergence in the CFO agenda. Regardless of ownership structure, finance leaders are being asked to create transparency, accelerate decision-making, build leadership capability, and translate transformation into measurable outcomes.
